Stevenage vs Reading – Stevenage to win at 3/4

A home win is on the cards when promotion-chasing Stevenage take on relegation-threatened Reading on Tuesday night.

Stevenage are still in the hunt for automatic promotion, with the Boro having two games in hand on some of their rivals. Steve Evans’ side have won three on the spin in League One, while at home, they are unbeaten in 10.

Reading are currently enjoying a three-match unbeaten run, but they have only won three times on their travels all season. A home victory looks like the sensible play, with Stevenage winning six of their previous 10 in front of their own supporters.

James Mason

Bristol Rovers vs Fleetwood – Bristol Rovers to win and both teams to score at 11/5

Bristol Rovers have performed solidly at Memorial Stadium this season and they can chalk up another home victory at the expense of 22rd-place Fleetwood, who look destined for the drop.

The Gas have failed to score in just one of their 14 League One fixtures at home, while five of the six victories they have recorded in their own backyard have seen both teams score.

Fleetwood have shown an attacking improvement under new manager Charlie Adam, netting four goals in his three away games in charge, but defensive issues continue to plague them and they look set for another road defeat.

Will Maxwell

Exeter vs Peterborough – Peterborough to win to nil at 9/4

Peterborough’s promotion push took a surprising knock in a 3-2 defeat at home to Wigan last time out, but the Posh should get back to winning ways when they travel to St James Park to face Exeter.

The Grecians also suffered defeat in their last league outing, at home to Bristol Rovers, and have scored just two goals at home across their last four home games.

The Posh meanwhile are unbeaten in six away games, winning four, and have found the back of the net at least twice in four of these fixtures. Another three points on the road could well be on the cards as Darren Ferguson’s men look to re-occupy the top two.

James Milton

Port Vale v Leyton Orient – Leyton Orient to win at 6/4

Port Vale last week played down speculation about a takeover bid from pop star and club president Robbie Williams but Vale have been sliding down the League One charts in recent weeks.

They lost 3-0 at fellow strugglers Fleetwood on Saturday, mustering only one shot on target, and that defeat left them just one place above the relegation zone.

Their lean run could be extended by a home defeat to Leyton Orient, who have picked up 13 points from their last five games including a 3-0 win away to leaders Portsmouth and a 1-0 home victory against third-placed Bolton.

Aidan Perkins

Burton vs Cheltenham – Burton to win at 19/10

Two teams in the wrong half of the table meet when 18th-place Burton host Cheltenham, who are in the relegation zone.

Burton have only won one of their last six league games but at home they are usually difficult to beat – Saturday’s 1-0 reverse to Lincoln was their first loss at the Pirelli in five league games.

Therefore, a home win looks likely, especially as Cheltenham approach the clash in poor form. Darrell Clarke’s men have lost their last three games and have only won one of their last six in the third tier to leave them in the midst of the relegation scrap.

Jamie Griffifth

Cambridge vs Bolton – Draw at 13/5

Despite a frustrating draw with fellow promotion hopefuls Barnsley on Saturday Bolton are still in a great position as they hunt for the League One title, although they may be set for further frustration against a Cambridge side that are tough to beat at the Abbey Stadium.

The U’s have lost only two of their last 11 home matches in a run that has included a victory over Blackpool and a 0-0 draw with league leaders Portsmouth, suggesting they could frustrate the Trotters on Tuesday.

The points have been shared in the last two meetings between these sides and, with Cambridge in good form and Bolton suspect of not killing games off, a draw looks worth backing once more.

Henry Hardwicke

Walsall vs Morecambe – Walsall to win at 4/5

Morecambe picked up a 2-1 win at Crawley last time out, but that was a dire game that featured only three shots on target and the Shrimps found the back of the net twice from just three efforts on the Crawley goal.

Prior to that Ged Brannan’s men had only one strike that found the target in a 1-0 home defeat to Colchester and Morecambe have worried the keeper only nine times in their last five games.

Walsall took a deserved point at Gillingham last weekend and that made it only three defeats in 12 matches for the Saddlers. Mat Sadler’s side look a fair bet at 4/5.
