Anderlecht to Win and Over 2.5 Match Goals

Reason for tip

At least three goals have been scored in Genk’s last four matches and in four of Anderlecht’s last six matches. The hosts may be weaker without Jan Vertonghen, but their home form is good enough with six wins from their last seven at Lotto Park to see them to victory a Genk side reeling from back-to-back away defeats.

Anderlecht vs Genk Predictions

  • At least three goals have been scored in four of Anderlecht’s last six matches
  • At least three goals have been scored in Genk’s last four contests
  • Anderlecht have won six of their last seven home games while Genk have lost back-to-back away matches

Anderlecht will miss Vertonghen

Anderlecht could be uneasy favourites for their must-win match against Racing Genk on Saturday due to the likely absence of defender Jan Vertonghen.

The former Tottenham centre-back came off feeling unwell in their 0-0 draw with Union SG last weekend and looks set to miss a couple of crucial games.

Two points behind Club Brugge with three games to go, Anderlecht cannot afford any slip-ups ahead of the probable title decider with the league leaders next weekend.

Lotto Park numbers look good

But they already appear to have gone slightly off the boil with the goalless game against Union preceded by a 1-1 draw at Cercle Brugge. Les Mauves also lost at Genk last month, although it took a stoppage-time penalty to break a draw in that one.

But the signs are not great for Brian Riemer’s side heading into this clash at Lotto Park. Kasper Dolberg has hit a lean spell in front of goal, but others are chipping in and there is a decent chance this clash features a few goals because of Anderlecht’s desperation for three points.

Backing the hosts to win with over 2.5 goals seems a risk worth taking with a lower stake than putting the proverbial house on a home victory – even if Anderlecht have won six of their last seven in Brussels.
