Gladbach face a tougher test

Borussia Monchengladbach have won their last three games against St Pauli, Cologne and Heidenheim, but all three of those teams dwell in the bottom half of the Bundesliga and this looks a massive task against the team who look Bayern Munich’s closest challengers at the top of the table.

Leipzig are averaging two goals a game in the Bundesliga this season and that does not bode well for Gladbach, who have failed to score in four of their six home league matches this term, so there looks a strong case for an away win.

Leipzig have put Hoffenheim loss behind them

Leipzig fell to a 3-1 defeat at Hoffenheim in their last away game before the international break, but they were soon back in the groove last weekend when they posted a 2-0 win over Werder Bremen and they should be able to build on that.

They have already won at Mainz, Wolfsburg and Augsburg, who they beat 6-0 last month, and they look set to add to their tally.

With each of Monchengladbach’s last five games and four of Leipzig’s last five featuring more than two goals, a 2-1 win for the visitors may appeal to correct-score enthusiasts.
