Over 2.5 Match Goals

Reason for tip

At least three goals have been scored in three of Lazio’s last four home games and also in three of Verona’s last five Serie A matches. We can expect to see Lazio involved in more high-scoring matches as Igor Tudor puts his stamp on the team.

Draw 2-2

Reason for tip

Lazio have scored seven goals in their last three games, but remain a bit ropey at the back. Verona are scoring goals again and notched a couple in a recent 2-2 away draw at Atalanta. They faced La Dea a few days after their infamous win at Anfield and can benefit from taking on another team in the aftermath of a draining cup fixture here to grab a similar result.

Valentin Castellanos To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

Valentin Castellanos scored twice against Juventus in midweek and could have had two more. The Mendoza marksman has been Igor Tudor’s preferred striker in three of his four games in charge.

Lazio could be vulnerable to Verona

Lazio could be vulnerable to a Hellas Verona side that have been hard to beat when they attempt to bounce back from their Coppa Italia semi-final exit on Saturday.

Igor Tudor’s side will have a lot of regrets following a sensational second leg at Stadio Olimpico in which they quickly drew level on aggregate with the Old Lady after two goals from Taty Castellanos.

But the marksman from Mendoza should have put the issue beyond doubt when spurning two further opportunities, both one one-on-ones with the keeper, before Arek Milik’s late poacher’s strike saw Juve through 3-2.

Tudor is opening up the taps

Tudor is beginning to put his stamp on the team just over a month after taking over from Maurizio Sarri. A side struggling to score under the ex-Chelsea boss has now notched seven times in their last three games – all of which were wins.

But Lazio put so much into Tuesday’s tie that it may be hard for Tudor to extract similar performance levels from them against Verina, even if he makes changes to freshen up the line-up.

Verona are fighting a relegation battle and got a crucial three points at home to Udinese last weekend. That 1-0 win went against the grain of recent Verona matches, however, and this clash should offer plenty of scope to go over 2.5 goals – as three of Lazio’s last four matches have done.
