Almeria Double Chance (Win or Draw)

Reason for tip

Real Betis have failed to win seven of their last 10 home La Liga matches while Almeria have avoided defeat in four of their last five away league games, including at sixth-placed Real Sociedad. Rojiblancos have won two and drawn one of their three away games under new coach Pepe Mel, who can make it very tough for his former side to get the win they need.

Draw 1-1

Reason for tip

Almeria’s recent upturn in away form has been down to keeping the goals out as they have only once conceded more than a goal in their lats five road trips. They rarely score more than once either, so a 1-1 draw may be the best result they can get. Betis drew their last home game 1-1 against Sevilla and that looks like a good option to take here in correct score betting.

Real Betis vs Almeria Predictions

  • Real Betis have failed to win seven of their last 10 home La Liga matches
  • Almeria have avoided defeat in four of their last five away league games, including at sixth-placed Real Sociedad
  • Almeria have won two and drawn one of their three away games under new coach Pepe Mel

Mel has made Almeria into serious road warriors

Real Betis could be in for a shock when they host an already-relegated but clearly transformed Almeria side on Sunday evening. The visitors sit bottom of the pile on 17 points, but seven of those have come in the six games since Pepe Mel took over in March.

The ex-Betis coach, who had two spells in charge at Estadio Benito Villamarin either side of his time at West Brom, has turned the laughing stock of La Liga into a serious team away from home.

Almeria won at Las Palmas in Mel’s first game and drew 2-2 at sixth-placed Real Sociedad on their next away trip. Then, last weekend, Rojiblancos clinched a 1-0 victory at Rayo Vallecano to keep their road resurgence going.

Betis have become wasteful at home

This is a much trickier task against a Betis side with the sixth-best home record in the division, but the visitors will get a couple of players back from suspension for this and cannot be ruled out.

Betis, who will get Isco and Hector Bellerin back from injury but may be without centre-back German Pezzella, have actually missed out on quite a few points at home in the second half of the campaign.

Manuel Pellegrni’s side have failed to win seven of their last 10 home games, albeit none of those slip-ups came against sides currently lower than 12th in the table. Still, the odds for a home win are too short and it may still be worth backing Almeria to get at least a point.
