Strasbourg vs Metz Predictions

• Strasbourg are on a three game losing streak in Ligue 1

Spoils to be shared in Derby de l’Est

Strasbourg’s final home game of the season sees Le Racing host bitter rivals Metz in the Eastern derby and the hosts will be hoping that they can avoid defeat for a fifth consecutive meeting on Sunday.

Patrick Vieira’s men have lost four of their last six at the Stade de la Meinau however they have proved to be a difficult opponent when Metz visit, with five of the last six meetings ending in a draw.

Les Granats are also struggling as of late, winning just two of their last seven in Ligue 1 – losing four – and Laszlo Boloni’s men currently occupy the relegation play-off spot, three points behind 15th placed Le Havre who have a far superior goal difference.

The hosts are safe from relegation worries and will not want to give their rivals any helping hand in avoiding the drop. However, the visitors have netted in 10 consecutive league matches and should trouble the Strasbourg back line. The indifferent form of both makes it difficult to see either side winning and so a 1-1 draw looks the most appealing correct score option.
