13:20 – Triumph Hurdle

Keith’s tip – Tritonic

You do not get many good Flat horses going over hurdles anymore. Tritonic is an exception. Having been second at Royal Ascot last year, he has looked the real thing over hurdles so far and if it comes down to a speed test in any way he will beat Zanahiyr.

13:55 – County Handicap Hurdle

Keith’s tip – Thyme White

Like Tritonic, this horse is bred for the Flat. Such horses tend to do better away from winter ground and he seemed just to run out of petrol in another hyper-competitive handicap last time having looked a big threat. These conditions should suit better.

14:30 – Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle

Keith’s tip – Stattler

His form received a boost on Wednesday when Gaillard Du Mesnil, who beat him into third last time, put up a bold showing in chasing home Bob Olinger in the Ballymore. This horse had looked a real stayer before that so should be suited by 3m.

15:05 – Gold Cup

Keith’s tip – A Plus Tard

The Gold Cup is the longest championship race, but the trends have it as a young man’s game. A Plus Tard is still only seven, but he has loads of experience too and won Ireland’s biggest trial for the race at Christmas.

15:40 – St James’s Place Hunters’ Chase

Keith’s tip – Bob And Co

Sometimes you just have to trust the best horse, irrespective of conditions. Bob And Co has never run on ground this quick and most of his relatives revelled in the mud, but his form is so strong that if he handles conditions you would feel silly for not having backed him.

16:15 – Mares’ Chase

Graeme’s tip – Shattered Love

She technically has it to do with Elimay from their last meeting, but that was over 2m and Shattered Love is a 2m4f/3m type. Her finest hour came in a Grade 1 over this course and distance and she offers value to turn the tables.
