Bournemouth vs Swansea
Correct Score Prediction: 1-1 Draw
Both of these teams come into the match fresh from good runs of form that have seen them distance themselves from the Premier League relegation battle. Swansea have only lost two of their last eight in all competitions and Bournemouth are on a three match unbeaten streak in the Premier League. Neither team has been setting the league alight with their form, but they are looking comfortable in the Premier League after shocking spells of form earlier in the season. I expect a point would do for both managers here on Saturday, so a 1-1 draw looks the most likely outcome to me.
Stoke vs Southampton
Correct Score Prediction: 2-1 Stoke
Stoke managed to break out of their poor spell of form a few weeks ago and come into this match having won three of their last four and battles to a draw with Chelsea last week. They have only lost one of their last five at the Britannia and are starting to get back to their best after a run of four defeats in five matches. Southampton looked a renewed team when Fraser Forster stepped back between the sticks. He kept six clean sheets in a row, but a defeat to Chelsea opened the floodgates and they have now conceded seven goals in their last three matches, losing twice. I think the home advantage will guide Stoke to a win on Saturday, and a 2-1 correct score prediction looks good to me.
Cardiff vs Ipswich
Correct Score Prediction: 2-2 Draw
Both teams will be gunning for the win on Saturday as they both look to gain some ground on their competitors in the race for a playoff spot in the Championship. Cardiff and Ipswich suffered midweek setbacks as the former lost to Leeds and the latter threw away a two goal lead to draw with Bolton. Both sides have been in good attacking form though, and know that a defeat here would damage their hopes of a top six finish. This makes a high scoring draw a very real possibility, so I’m backing a 2-2 draw here.
Huddersfield vs Burnley
Correct Score Prediction: 2-1 Burnley
Burnley have quietly gone about their business this season and now look poised to gain promotion back into the Premier League. They are unbeaten since Boxing Day in the Championship and come into this match on the back of five straight victories and at the top of the table fresh from a 3-2 win over Fulham in midweek. Huddersfield, on the other hand, have begun a slide back towards the relegation battle after winning just one of their last four. Burnley are one of the best attacking sides in the Championship this season and I think they can grab a couple of goals away to Huddersfield, so a 2-1 win for the visitors is looking attractive.
Hull vs MK Dons
Correct Score Prediction: 2-0 Hull
Hull come into this game having failed to score in their last two matches, but with their form prior to this being so good they will be pleased to welcome the relegation threatened MK Dons to the KC Stadium on Saturday. This gives them a great opportunity to get back to scoring form in the Championship and continue their quest for an automatic promotion spot. The hosts have only lost once at home all season and have won to nil in nine of their 11 home victories this season, so I think they’ll keep a clean sheet against the relegation candidates. A comfortable 2-0 win for the hosts is looking very likely in my opinion.
Rotherham vs Derby
Correct Score Prediction: 1-0 Rotherham
Derby come into this game having lost their last three away games in the Championship and in inconsistent form since the appointment of Darren Wassall. Rotherham, meanwhile, are staging a late comeback in the relegation battle. They have won three in a row now including a win against promotion hopefuls Middlesbrough in midweek. Despite their position near the bottom of the Championship they have still managed to win five of their last eight home matches, and with Neil Warnock at the helm they are likely to grab a few more of them as they try to steer clear of relegation. A 1-0 win for the revitalised hosts looks good to me.
