Arsenal vs Watford
Correct Score Prediction: 3-1 Arsenal
Arsenal performed really well at Goodison Park just before the international break, and they will be keen for revenge against Watford after the Hornets dumped them out of the FA Cup recently. The hosts are also fighting to keep their Premier League title challenge alive, and that should be enough incentive for them to get the win against a Watford side who have lost three of their last four outings in the Premier League. Arsenal have managed to net 13 goals in their last seven games, and that includes matches against the likes of Barcelona and Manchester United, so they should be able to bag a few on Saturday. They have conceded 12 during this time though, so a high scoring 3-1 win for Arsenal looks good to me.
Bournemouth vs Manchester City
Correct Score Prediction: 1-1 Draw
Bournemouth lost 3-0 against Tottenham Hotspur last time out, but other than that they are in impressive form. They have only lost one of their last five games and have managed a win on three occasions, a run of form which has seen them leapfrog Watford in the Premier League table. Manchester City should be ripe for the picking at the moment. The visitors are without key defensive figures and will probably rotate the squad further ahead of their Champions League clash in midweek. Their top four spot is in jeopardy, and Bournemouth should have the determination to get one over a Manchester City side who have only won one of their last six outings. A hard fought 1-1 draw is looking like the best option.
Norwich vs Newcastle
Correct Score Prediction: 1-0 Norwich
The struggling Norwich have seen themselves massively boost their chances of survival over the last few weeks. They have picked up four crucial points from their last two matches, and they can further distance themselves from the drop zone against a Newcastle side who have lost eight away games on the bounce. The visitors have definitely improved recently, but I don’t think they have improved enough to pick up any points against an improving Norwich side. To make matters worse, Rob Elliot joined first choice goalkeeper Tim Krul on the sidelines recently, meaning the Toon will have to rely on their 3rd choice goalkeeper for the remainder of the season. 1-0 to Norwich is looking very attractive considering the hosts have kept back to back clean sheets.
Stoke vs Swansea
Correct Score Prediction: 1-1 Draw
Swansea’s appointment of Francesco Guidolin is looking like a stroke of genius. The squad were in disarray before he took over, but he has taken the reins and guided them confidently towards Premier League safety. They have won three of their last four matches and have only lost two of their last five away from home. Their organised back line and possession based football should be enough to hold off a Stoke side who ebb and flow in their performances. Unless the best of the best turn up for Stoke, I think the Swans can grab a point on Saturday.
Sunderland vs West Brom
Correct Score Prediction: 2-1 Sunderland
Sunderland came so close to securing a vital three points against arch rivals Newcastle last time out, but a late equaliser saw them leave St James’ Park with just a point. However, it’s undoubted that they have repidly improved recently. They have only lost one of their last six matches under Sam Allardyce and will feel confident in outscoring the goalshy West Brom on Saturday. Scoring hasn’t been Sunderland’s problem this season, but defensively even they should have too much to worry about against West Brom. I think the hosts can get a couple of goals to fend off West Brom on Saturday, but it still seems unlikely that they can keep a clean sheet, so 2-1 to Sunderland is looking good.
West Ham vs Crystal Palace
Correct Score Prediction: 2-0 West Ham
West Ham are making a very genuine challenge for a top four spot in the Premier League thanks to the heroics of their talented attacking players. They narrowly missed out on moving into the top four when Chelsea clawed a point from Upton Park with a last gasp equaliser. This doesn’t take away from the Hammers’ excellent form though, and the fact that they have won four of their last six should have the struggling Crystal Palace worried. The visitors remain without a Premier League win in 2016 and have lost nine of their last 13. Their attack is woeful at the best of times, but with Connor Wickham and Emmanuel Adebayor both doubts for this match it seems far fetched that they can get past the sturdy West Ham defence. 2-0 looks a good shout to me.
