Aberdeen vs Inverness CT Predictions
It’s been a shaky start to the season as far as Aberdeen are concerned. They started last term in blistering form as they walked straight into a winning streak and kept the title challenge on Celtic until the closing stages of the campaign. At the rate they’re going this season they will be lucky to be anywhere near Celtic by Christmas.
Aberdeen began the season with a 4-0 aggregate win over Ventspils in the Europa League qualifiers, but that dream was soon ended when Maribor knocked them out in the next round. What followed was a drab goalless draw against St Johnstone to begin their domestic campaign, and they weren’t entirely convincing in their 2-1 win over Ayr United in the Scottish League Cup.
Another goalless draw in the Premiership came at home to Hearts, and whilst they did get their season underway with a 2-1 win against Partick Thistle next time out, their confidence will have been dented by the 4-1 thrashing that Celtic dealt them just before the international break.
Aberdeen will feel fairly confident about their chances of bouncing back with a win on Saturday though. Inverness CT did start the campaign with some conviction as they won three of their four Scottish League Cup games to finish 2nd in the group. However, the start of the Scottish Premiership saw them lose 2-0 to Partick Thistle, and just a few days later Alloa Athletic dumped them out of the League Cup.
Two more defeats followed against Ross County and Hearts, and although they managed a win against St. Johnstone just before the international break, they aren’t looking at all good at the moment. To be honest, their confidence is probably still low from last season after they finished in 7th position in the table, dropping from an impressive 3rd the season before.
Despite Inverness CT’s win last time out, I still think they’ll be struggling for confidence at the moment, and even with Aberdeen out of form a trip to the Tynecastle Stadium isn’t ideal when low on confidence. I think Aberdeen have enough about them to get the three points on Saturday, and odds of 4/5 for them to win look very good value considering they’re at home. I’m going for a 2-1 correct score prediction at 15/2 as well.
