      Aberdeen vs St Johnstone Predictions

Aberdeen managed to bounce back from two damaging defeats in midweek when they thrashed Kilmarnock 5-1 at the Pittodrie Stadium. This followed on from their League Cup final defeat to Celtic and a league loss to Rangers, and they will be hoping they can return to form now.

Aberdeen have looked a bit out of sorts over the past couple of months, and as a result of a number of disappointing results they now find themselves 3rd in the table behind Rangers and Celtic. They do have a game in hand on Rangers above them, but the title is all but wrapped up now with Celtic ten points clear of them and with two games in hand.

Most of Aberdeen’s home outings this season have resulted in success though. They have won four of their last six and lost only against Celtic. During this period they have netted 14 goals, so they definitely have the potential to damage teams in front of their own fans.

Kilmarnock found this out the hard way in midweek with their heavy defeat. Jonny Hayes managed to bag two of their five goals to draw him level at the top of Aberdeen’s scoring charts. Adam Rooney, Hayes, and Niall McGinn all have four league goals to their name, and with all of Hayes’ and McGinn’s coming at home backing either of them to score looks a good option for our anytime goalscorer predictions.

St Johnstone are coming into this match on the back of a victory having beaten Inverness CT 3-0 at home, but prior to that they were winless in four matches. Away from home they have only won one of their last five too, with one of these games being a 1-0 defeat to Aberdeen in the Scottish League Cup.

The visitors’ last trip away saw them concede two at Hearts though, and with Aberdeen in such fine form going forward their defence could be in for a tough afternoon. Four of Aberdeen’s last six home games have seen them score at least two goals, so backing Aberdeen Over 1.5 Team Goals at 4/5 looks a good option alongside a 2-1 correct score predictions at 7/1.
