ADO Den Haag vs AZ Alkmaar Predictions

Den Haag were unlucky last time out as they were beaten 3-2 in a five-goal thriller away at Feyenoord, while AZ thrashed newly-promoted Sparta Rotterdam 5-1 at home.

All of the stats suggest that Den Haag could take something from Sunday’s match and we’ve backed the hosts with a double chance bet and for the scoreline to end 1-0 in their favour.

Den Haag claimed all three points when these two sides last met back in April, winning 3-2 in Alkmaar, but don’t have a good overall record against Sunday’s guests. Under 2.5 goals have been scored in three of the pairs’ last six encounters and both teams have scored in just one of the duos’ last six meetings, so we’re expecting a tight game with few goals on Sunday.

The form of both teams hints towards a positive result for the hosts this weekend, as Den Haag have won two of their last three Eredivisie games and AZ have only won two of their last five matches in all competitions. The visitor’s participation in the Europa League could have a huge effect on Sunday’s result as AZ lost their last Eredivisie game that arrived after a European game, 2-1 away at Vitesse.

Den Haag have kept two clean sheets in their last three attempts and have looked strong in defence for the most part during the last few weeks and going forward they have scored six goals in their last three matches. AZ have only won one of their last three away games and that was against Antwerp in the Europa League qualifiers and have only won once away from home in the Eredivisie this season.

We’re confident that a double chance bet on Den Haag will payout this weekend and have predicted a final scoreline of 1-0 on Sunday. Den Haag don’t have the best of records against Sunday’s guests but did win the pairs’ last encounter earlier this year and have had more time to prepare for this match due to their guest’s participation in the Europa League.
