It is almost 2 years since Armenia won a football match, which to put it mildly is highly disappointing for a side that won 4-0 in Denmark during qualifying for the 2014 World Cup. They also won in the Czech Republic during that campaign but any hopes of a new dawn for Armenian football have gone by the wayside as they picked up just 2 points and finished bottom of their group during Euro 2016 qualifying. Their most recent matches have seen them lose 4-0 to France and 3-0 at home to Albania so they don’t come into this game with much confidence.

Belarus won’t be going to the Euros either which is no great surprise but they did end the qualifying procedure on a very positive note. They took 7 points from their final 3 games including a very impressive 1-0 win in Slovakia. They kept 3 clean sheets in that run and were only beaten 1-0 by Spain in June last year so there are definite signs of improvement from this Belarus side and victory in Armenia would cement that idea as we head towards World Cup qualifying.

Certainly all the momentum is with Belarus here and there may be some value in backing them given they are underdogs. Armenia’s failure to beat anyone over the past couple of years offers the visitors hope although it is unlikely to be a high-scoring game. Armenia haven’t scored in any of their 4 matches this season and with Belarus looking good at the back, they might just nick the win here so consider backing Belarus to win 1-0 at 13/2.
