Arsenal vs Watford Betting Tips & Predictions

Arsenal will be keen on revenge on Saturday. Watford knocked them out of the FA Cup earlier this month to halt the Gunners chase of a 3rd consecutive FA Cup trophy, and the hosts really need a win to keep their Premier League title bid alive as well.

This gives Arsenal a lot of incentive on Saturday, not that they need much more than a Premier League title challenge. They managed to keep it alive with an impressive performance at Goodison Park before the international break, with the 2-0 win for the visitors slightly flattering Everton.

This was just their second win in their last five matches in all competitions, and it leaves them 11 points adrift of league leaders Leicester with a game in hand on them. A win on Saturday could take them to within three points of arch rivals Spurs in 2nd place.

Watford put in some excellent performances in the first half of the season, but they have dropped off the boil massively recently. They come into this game having lost three of their last four matches, causing them to drop down to 14th in the Premier League. They should be safe from the relegation battle, but it’s not the position they were hoping for given their excellent showing earlier in the season.

Arsenal seem to have rediscovered their scoring form recently. They have netted 13 goals in their last seven matches in all competitions, but it’s come at the price of conceding 12 goals at the other end. This has, unsurprisingly, resulted in some high scoring games. Six of their last seven outings have seen at least three goals scored, so odds of 7/10 for Over 2.5 Goals look excellent value in this one. I’m backing Arsenal to win though, and a 3-1 correct score prediction looks good at 12/1.
