Aston Villa vs Newcastle Betting Tips & Predictions

Aston Villa are breaking unwanted records every week it seems. Last week they equalled their worst ever losing streak in the club’s history, and this weekend their aim will be to avoid bettering such an unwanted record.

They have now lost 11 matches on the trot in the Premier League, leaving them rock bottom of the Premier League with just 16 points from their 36 games so far.

They might find it tough to stop Newcastle as well, who have improved dramatically in recent weeks to clamber out of the relegation zone and increase their chances of remaining in the top flight.

The visitors are unbeaten in four matches and have picked up eight points from a possible 12 during this run. This includes wins over Swansea and Crystal Palace either side of back to back draws against Manchester City and Liverpool, which can be considered excellent results.

Newcastle need to keep the points rolling in though. They are just one point clear of Sunderland, who occupy the first of the relegation positions, and both them and Norwich have a game in hand on the Toon Army.

Aston Villa have improved in their performances recently, but it hasn’t yielded any results. They have managed to score five goals in their last two games, but have conceded seven at the other end to lose both matches. Their improving attack and consistently shocking defensive work has resulted in quite a few high scoring games recently. Eight of their last 11 games have seen at least three goals scored.

Newcastle will be gunning for the three points as well, and with their recent improvements they could well find themselves involved in a goalfest. Four of their last six outings have had over two goals scored, including a three goal haul against Swansea and two at Anfield.

This makes odds of 17/20 for Over 2.5 Goals look attractive, and I like the look of a high scoring 3-2 win for Newcastle at huge odds of 25/1.
