Villa’s struggles in the league are well documented but the hope is that their FA Cup draw at Wycombe and the subsequent backlash that the players received from their fans has had a positive effect. Villa won in the league for the first time since August just 3 days later by beating Crystal Palace at home and backed that up with a draw against high-flying Leicester on Saturday.

With a tie against Manchester City awaiting the winners, Wycombe will certainly be the more eager of the sides to progress and will come here with their strongest line-up and a never-say-die attitude. Wycombe, perhaps with one eye on a lucrative replay, seemed to go into their shell a little in the closing stages 10 days ago when the tie looked there for the taking against a poor Villa side. They’ll have nothing to lose here so will give it a go and we could see a more open contest and backing both teams to score at 6/5 seems like a solid bet given that Villa are prone to making mistakes at the back.
