AZ Alkmaar vs Partizan Belgrade Predictions
AZ are yet to lose in Group L and a point against Partizan on Thursday would prove enough to seal second place with one game still to play. The visitors arrive knowing a win is a must but having lost their last two group games confidence is bound to be low and even three points on Thursday would only take them to within a point of AZ meaning they would need another win and another AZ defeat to progress any further in this competition.
All of the stats suggest that we are unlikely to see both teams score on Thursday and we have predicted a final scoreline of 2-0 in favour of the hosts AZ.
AZ haven’t lost in Group L yet, picking up wins against Astana and drawing twice against Manchester United and Partizan and only one of those four games have seen both teams score. Partizan have failed to score in their last two group games, both of which ended in defeat, and now they go up against an AZ Alkmaar side that have won each of their last six matches in all competitions without conceding a single goal. Both teams have scored in just two of Partizan’s last six matches, which is another reason we aren’t backing both teams to score on Thursday.
AZ have only lost one of their seven home games in the Eredivisie this season, winning five of their seven matches, while Partizan have lost twice on the road in their domestic league. With 71% of AZ’s home games ending in victory this season and the hosts scoring an average of 2.71 goals per home game, you can start to see why we’ve backed the Eredivisie side to claim a 2-0 win on Thursday. 71% of Partizan’s away games have produced over 1.5 goals this season but AZ have kept clean sheets in 71% of their home and away games this season and haven’t conceded a goal in any of their last six matches and that is why we have backed the hosts to win 2-0.
we’re confident that we won’t see both teams score on Thursday and we have predicted a final scoreline of 2-0 in favour of AZ. The hosts head into the game in top form, winning six and keeping six clean sheets in their last six outings. AZ have outperformed Partizan in the Europa League this season, earning a draw in Serbia when the pair last met, and we believe they will secure a win and keep a clean sheet on Thursday.
