Burnley vs Cardiff Betting Tips & Predictions

Burnley were unbeaten in 15 league games going in to their trip to 3rd placed Brighton on Saturday. That run looked like it was going to end until Michael Keane popped up to score a last gasp equaliser for the Clarets. It means they are now 3 points clear of 2nd placed Middlesbrough and 4 clear of the Seagulls in the race for automatic promotion and with 2 home games in the space of 5 days they’ll be hopeful of extending their advantage further although they could only draw last time out at Turf Moor when Wolves visited.

This won’t be easy either against a Cardiff side who are making a real good go of their bid for a play-off spot. Crucially they beat the side directly above them, Derby County on Saturday to move within 2 points of the Rams in that crucial 6th place. Cardiff have only lost 2 of their last 13 games and their only defeat in their last 6 on the road came at Middlesbrough. 4 of their next 6 games are away so they’ll need to keep that form going to stay in the hunt although clearly this is a tough game for them.

Burnley’s late draw would have felt more like a win on Saturday denying Brighton a victory that may have changed the course of the promotion race. They will head into this one with a bit of a bounce because of that and are so strong at Turf Moor, where they have won 7 of their last 9 league home games. Cardiff are a solid side but both score fewer and concede more goals than Burnley and backing Burnley to win at 19/20 may be where the smart money lies in this one.
