The bookies make Norwich favourites to win this game but it’s quite hard to understand that for numerous reasons and the value here looks to be with the hosts.

For starters, Norwich have been awful on the road over the past few months. They haven’t won any of their last 10 away games in all competitions and they’ve lost 7 of the last 8. As a result they’ve now lost 57% of their away games in the Championship this term and they only average 0.86 points per game away from Carrow Road. They sold Robbie Brady and Martin Olsson to Premier League clubs in January but do at least look to have found like-for-like replacements in the shape of Dutchmen Yanic Wildschut and Mitchell Dijks.

Even so it may take some time for the duo to settle and it could add further to the defensive uncertainty that has plagued them this season. The Canaries have conceded 2 goals per game on average on their travels, which suggests Cardiff will pose them quite a few problems here.

The Bluebirds are in pretty good form, which makes their status as underdogs even more surprising. They’ve won 4 of their last 6 in the league and have only suffered 1 defeat in their last 7 home Championship games. They are chasing a 4th straight league win at the Cardiff City Stadium here and put in an assured display last weekend to see off a solid Preston side 2-0 at home.

Danish forward Kenneth Zohorè led the line effectively in that game and should keep his place. You can back Zohorè to score anytime at 13/5 here, which looks like good value given he will be Cardiff’s most advanced player by some margin and is up against a Norwich side that has only kept 1 away clean sheet in the league all season.

Norwich have put in some really poor away performances of late, even losing at rock bottom Rotherham. Perhaps it has become a mental issue more than anything but they won’t get much change from a committed Cardiff side that is playing with belief and therefore backing Cardiff 0.00 Asian Handicap at 43/40 looks like it could offer value here.
