Chapecoense vs Internacional Predictions
Chapecoense have been the real entertainers in Serie A this season with 60 goals in their 19 games so far, more than any other side. They are 11th in the division at the half-way point so it’s been a pretty good season for them overall, but they were beaten 3-1 at Atletico Mineiro last weekend. The Belo Horizonte side are in red-hot form though so they won’t have lost too much sleep over that and had gone 6 games without defeat in all competitions prior to that.
Internacional meanwhile have had a miserable few months. They’ve sacked two coaches in the space of 5 weeks with Argel Fucks dismissed on the 10th July following a poor run of results while his successor Falcao failed to make any significant improvements and was also shown the door on Monday following a 2-2 draw with Fluminense.
They’ve gone 11 league games without a win now, losing 8 of them and have fallen down to 13th in the division as a result. They are likely to be even further down by the time this one kicks off and that will add some pressure on them as new coach Celso Roth takes charge for the first time in what will incredibly be his 5th spell in charge of Inter, 23 years on from his 1st.
He should get some kind of reaction from his troops but this is a tricky game and one where goals look likely. Both teams have scored in all of Chapecoense’s last 5 matches and in 3 of Inter’s last 4. Inter’s last two games have finished with 2-2 and 4-2 scorelines so they are looking better in the final third but seem to be getting progressively worse at the back.
Given that backing both teams to score at Evens looks to offer real value here.
