Chelsea (Women) vs Tottenham Hotspur (Women) Predictions
Chelsea Women to win to nil
Chelsea Women to win 1-0
- Chelsea have won four games in a row, keeping clean sheets in the last three
- Spurs have picked up just one victory in their last four away fixtures
- Chelsea have lost just two of their last 25 WSL fixtures
Blues to hit the front for the first time
Chelsea would much rather be in Champions League action this week, but their exit to Wolfsburg before Christmas means they are concentrating on domestic competitions – and can now go top for the first time this season.
The Blues have won four in a row following their shock cup defeat to Manchester City earlier this month, and a fifth straight victory here will see them jump above Arsenal, who have been in first place since August.
Emma Hayes’ side remain unbeaten at home in the WSL, conceding just once and winning seven of their eight games, while they thrashed Birmingham 5-0 at Kingsmeadow in the FA Cup at the weekend.
Spurs struggling on the road?
Tottenham have now failed to score in three of their last four matches away from home, losing 3-0 to Manchester United and Manchester City before drawing 0-0 with Reading at the start of the month.
Rehanne Skinner’s side have actually only netted nine times in eight matches on the road – none of the teams above them have scored fewer – despite winning on four occasions.
Three of those victories however have come against the bottom three teams, while the other was over Manchester City right at the start of the campaign, when Gareth Taylor’s outfit were underachieving.
I expect Chelsea to win this one and I cannot see there being too many goals, so I predict a Chelsea win without both teams scoring, and I’m also going for 1-0 as a correct score prediction.
