Columbus Crew vs Houston Dynamo Betting Tips & Predictions

Columbus Crew finally managed to get a win on the board last weekend when they beat New York City 3-2, but there is still an air of disappointment around the Mapfire Stadium at their poor start to the campaign.

They finished last season 2nd in the MLS Eastern Conference and reached the MLS Cup Final in what can be considered a successful season, but a repeat of their cup final defeat in the opening match of the season saw confidence sink.

They went on to lose three and draw two of their five matches before their win at the weekend, a run of form which puts them down in 9th position in the Eastern Conference. However, they will be hoping that this win can spur them on to put together a run of good form.

Houston Dynamo finished last season 8th in the Western Conference, and it’s no surprise given some of their performances so far this season. They opened the campaign with a 3-3 thriller at home to New England Revolution before they surprisingly hammered Texas rivals FC Dallas 5-0 at home.

But that’s where the good news ends for Houston Dynamo. They have since lost three of their four MLS matches, drawing the remaining one and conceding ten goals in total.

Despite both teams’ poor start to the season neither of them have been particularly shy in front of goal. Columbus Crew have netted six goals so far, but conceded nine at the other end, whilst Houston Dynamo have scored 13 times and shipped the same amount.

This has resulted in some high scoring matches due to the dodgy back lines of both teams, so another high scoring match could well be on the agenda in this one. I’m backing Over 2.5 Goals at 13/20, and also going for a 3-1 Columbus Crew win at 12/1.
