Crewe have been in fantastic form in recent weeks and after their 2-0 win over free-scoring Grimsby Town last week they have climbed to third in the league and are just three points off top spot. The loss of Chelsea loanee Alex Kiwomya will be a big loss to Crewe though and although they have cover in the position, the young winger has been a large part of their success this season. Alexandra were not expected to be one of the sides expected to challenge for promotion this year but if they are able to maintain this excellent form then an immediate return to League One is definitely on the cards.

Life as a Blackpool fan, and probably a fan of most teams outside the big four, was summed up quite nicely last week. After years of strife, clashes with the ownership and falling down the leagues, Blackpool found themselves 2-0 down to Carlisle. Fans would have been forgiven for thinking the worst but the team rallied back to claim a point, just enough hope to keep their faithful hooked for another 90 minutes. Gary Bowyer’s side have had a mixed season so far and that result puts them in 18th position.
