CSKA Moscow vs Tottenham Hotspur Predictions & Betting Tips, Match Previews

CSKA Moscow are having a bit of a tough time of things at the moment. They started the season in solid form as they won four and drew two of their opening six Russian Premier League games, but they never looked completely dominant. They won 1-0 three times during this period and only netted four times in their opening five matches.

Their 2-2 draw at Bayer Leverkusen in their Champions League opener can certainly be considered a successful result though as they traveled to Germany and came away with a point after a 2-2 draw.

The Russians followed this with a 2-1 win in the Premier League, but a 2-1 defeat to Yenisey last week sent them out of the Russian Cup early on and they could only manage a draw at home to Krasnodar on Saturday.

Tottenham Hotspur suffered a surprising defeat in their Champions League group stage opener as they lost 2-1 at home to Monaco. This was their first defeat of the season and followed on from two wins and two draws in the Premier League.

Spurs have bounced back very well from this setback though. They have won all three of their matches since, scoring eight goals and conceding just one. Five of these goals did come at home to Gillingham in the League Cup though.

They have also lost star striker Harry Kane to an ankle ligament injury, with their top scorer from the past two seasons expected to be out until November. Heung-Min Son stepped up to the plate at the weekend though with two first half goals in their 2-1 win over Middlesbrough. The forward also got two in their 4-0 win over Stoke earlier this month, so he’s certainly one to watch.

This 2-1 win made it four of Spurs’ last five games that have seen at least three goals scored in them, and with CSKA Moscow also having the same record over the past five games, I think backing Over 2.5 Goals at 21/20 is the way to go. I’m going to back Spurs to get the win with a 2-1 correct score prediction at 8/1 as well.
