DC United vs Whitecaps Betting Tips & Predictions

DC United haven’t exactly had a spectacular start to the new MLS campaign. They began with by enduring a second half demolition by LA Galaxy as they came from a goal behind to win 4-1. We are now five games into the new season, and DC United are yet to taste victory.

They have drawn three and lost one of their following four matches, scoring just two goals in the process and conceding five. This follows on from their elimination from the CONCACAF Champions League before the MLS season began, so 2016 has been a year to forget for DC United so far.

Whitecaps managed to finish 2nd in the MLS Western Conference last season, but it didn’t look like they could repeat that feat when they opened their season with back to back defeats against Montreal Impact and Sporting Kansas City.

But the visitors have since picked themselves up, and they followed these defeats up with wins against Seattle Sounders and Houston Dynamo and, most recently, a draw at home to LA Galaxy.

I think the visitors have got the upper hand in this one. They won their last away day in the MLS and are facing a DC United side who have lost three and drawn two of their last five home games in all competitions.

Whitecaps are also unbeaten in Washington since 2011 and will generally be in much higher spirits than their opponents on Saturday. Not to mention the fact that DC United are missing three goalkeepers and a left back through injury.
