Dover vs Chesterfield Predictions
- Dover have lost three of their last five games and they are currently in 12th position.
- Chesterfield have won three of their last five games but have also lost two in that time.
- Dover have both scored and conceded 48 goals so far this season.
- Chesterfield have scored 54 goals so far this season but conceded 64 times with their games averaging 3.2 goals per game.
Dover struggling of late and need points
Dover sit in mid table this season, a season that has been fairly average for the side so far. They’ve won two of their last five games but experienced three losses in that time with the club really struggling to find consistency in their playoff push. A return to winning ways would be very welcome to the side as they still only sit two points off the playoff spots.
Dover have scored 48 goals this season, an average of 1.29 goals per game and this is the same record they have at the other end of the pitch. Their defensive record has got worse over the past five weeks with the side conceding at a rate of 1.4 goals per game. This again is also the case at the other end of the pitch where the team have scored 1.4 goals per game over their past five matches.
Chesterfield need to find points in relegation fight
Chesterfield have had a disappointing season so far, losing 16 times and flirting with relegation for large parts of the campaign. In recent weeks they’ve managed to pick up nine points from a possible 15 as they move out of the bottom four and look a little more cohesive in attack.
The side have scored 54 goals this season, more than FC Halifax, who currently sit in 6th place but on the other hand they’ve conceded the third highest amount in the league on 64. Over the past five weeks the side have scored an average of 2.4 goals per game though, rapidly increasing the amount they’ve scored. They’ve also seen their defensive output decrease though with the side conceded an average of 2 goals a game over the past five weeks.
High scoring game expected this weekend
Goals should be expected in this weekend’s game between Dover and Chesterfield with both sides seeing plenty of goalmouth action in their games in recent weeks. We can certainly see this being one of the more entertaining games of the weekend and we’re backing the 2.5 goal line to be beaten in this game.
Despite their poor standing in the league, Chesterfield have improved greatly over the past few weeks and we can’t see much separating these two sides. We think this one ends in a stalemate, albeit one that has plenty of goals and we’re predicting that this game finishes in a 2-2 draw.
