Dover vs Woking Predictions

The prize all non-league clubs fight for is to win the right to compete in the Football League, and although we are still a long way from the end of the season, the race for promotion is already hotting up. The side currently leading the way in the National League is perhaps a surprising one, but this Bank Holiday Monday they have the opportunity to further their credentials as they make the trip to face off against a Dover Athletic side who are also in the early running.

Dover Athletic will be pleased with the start they have made to the season and after a couple of seasons flirting with the play-off places, they will hope this is the year that they can go that one step further. The hosts may have only scored nine times in their six league matches to date, but they are yet to fail to score in the league and this proficiency in front of goal means that they are will in the running in the early stages of the league.

One man who will be key to Dover’s chances on Monday is the in form striker Inih Effiong. The 27-years-old had to wait to get off the mark this season but he goes into this match having scored in each of his last three appearances and he looks like a good bet to find the back of the net once again on Monday.

Making the trip to the Crabble Athletic Ground is a Woking side who are looking like the team to beat in the National League so far as they have five of their six league matches so far. It is not as if things have been hard on the road either as all three of their trips so far have proven to be successful and, thanks to their excellent early season form, they sit at the top of the league and the signs are looking good for a spectacular campaign.

Although the league leaders have been impressive so far this season, this clash certainly represents one of their toughest challenges to date. The home side will be a difficult prospect and given that they have scored in every game they have played so far, they should not be underestimated. The visitors are no slouches themselves, however, and with eight goals scored in three away matches, we think they also look likely to find the back of the net. With this in mind, we think that backing both teams to score represents the best chance of a decent return.
