Dynamo Kiev vs Napoli Predictions & Betting Tips, Match Previews

Another Champions League campaign begins for the dominant Ukrainian team Dynamo Kiev, and they will feel that their group is one that they can definitely qualify from with a bit of luck. Napoli are the undoubted favourites for the group, but Benfica and Besiktas are the other two teams in there. None of the teams in the group are poor sides, but every one of them is beatable in Dynamo Kiev’s eyes. This is one Champions League group that could see anyone qualify from.

Dynamo Kiev aren’t coming into the start of the Champions League with much confidence though. The weekend saw them draw at Shakhtar Donetsk in the Ukrainian Premier League. This isn’t a bad result in itself, but it followed on from a 2-0 loss at home to Vorskla before the international break, which saw them fail to win two games in a row for the first time in nearly a year. In the league they haven’t failed to win in two back to back games since April 2014, so that will have come as a big shock to them.

Prior to that they had won all five of their league games this season though and beaten Shakhtar Donetsk on penalties in the Ukrainian Super Cup back in the middle of July.

Napoli will be a huge test to the hosts though. They enjoyed a very successful Serie A campaign last season, and the goal-scoring record of Gonzalo Higuain attracted a ridiculous £80 million bid from Juventus for him. The Argentine striker has now left, but it doesn’t seem to have harmed Napoli too much. Talented Ajax striker Arkadiusz Milik has come in along with teenage midfielder Amadou Diawara and fellow midfielder Piotr Zielinski.

This has served them well so far, with Napoli winning two of their three Serie A games and drawing the other one. They’ve scored nine goals in these three games, so the loss of Higuain doesn’t seem to have had a massive impact on their attacking abilities.

Considering Napoli’s excellent start to the campaign in the attacking sense, I can see them finding the net on Tuesday. Dinamo Kiev have conceded in seven of their last 11 home games in the Champions League and in six of their eight games this season. Napoli have conceded four goals in their three games this season as well though and have only kept one clean sheet in their eight away days in the Champions League.

This makes odds of 4.5 for Both Teams to Score on Tuesday look a good value bet, and that’s what I’m going for along with a narrow 2-1 win for Napoli at 17/2 for my correct score prediction.
