Eibar vs Villarreal Betting Tips & Predictions

Villarreal were on the wrong end of some poor refereeing decisions in their last match against Barcelona but still fought back from 2-0 down to claim a point. It was an important point and performance too as their league form has started to dip a bit in recent weeks and they’d picked up only a point from their previous 3 games due to a surprise home loss to Las Palmas and defeat at Sevilla. They are still though 6 points clear of Celta Vigo and Sevilla in the race for that crucial 4th place and Champions League football next season.

Eibar have only taken 5 points from their last 10 league games and really seem to have hit the wall as they did last year in the second half of the season. 3 of those points came via a home win over bottom club Levante but they have drawn their last two games as well to keep their tally ticking along and in 9th place with 38 points they may only need a couple more points to secure survival which was the principal goal this season.

This doesn’t have the makings of a particularly great game. Eibar’s poor run of form has seen them go into their shell a little and the refreshing attacking approach we saw in the first part of the season has been less evident. They’d be content with a draw and it wouldn’t be the end of the world for Villarreal either. 3 of Villarreal’s last 4 away games have finished 0-0 and Eibar have failed to score in their last two outings at home.
