Emelec vs Deportivo Tachira Predictions
Deportivo Tachira’s Series Final victory over Trujillac last season made them one of the multiple Venezuelan champions from 2015, allowing them to qualify for the 2nd season in a row after a three year absence previously. They have started this season rather well as well, picking up nine points from their opening five matches to leave them 4th in the table. They also managed to pick up their first three points in the Copa Libertadores as well when they beat Olimpia last Wednesday.
Emelec qualified for the competition as 2015 Ecuadorian champions after beating LDU Quito in the finals back in December. But they didn’t have the start they were hoping for last week when they lost 4-2 away to Pumas Unam last Friday. Emelec twice came from behind in that match before succumbing to two goals in the final 30 minutes.
Reasons for Betting Tips
Both teams haven’t been shy of goals at either end of the pitch recently, with eight of Emelec’s last 12 outings seeing three or more goals scored and Deportivo Tachira holding the same record.
Emelec’s goalscoring contribution to this impressive record of goalfests is very good too. They have scored 14 goals in their last five home matches in all competitions, while Deportivo Tachira have netted nine times in their last five away days.
To add to this the visitors have only kept one clean sheet in their last 10 away matches and the hosts have failed to keep the opposition out in eight of their 10 home games. This makes a high scoring game look a likelihood to me, but I’m also backing the hosts to get a 3-1 win at impressive odds of 11/1.
