FC Copenhagen vs FC Porto Predictions, Betting Tips and Match Previews

Copenhagen are faring surprisingly well in the Champions League so far, and with just two games remaining they still have qualification to the knockout stages well within their grasp. Even better for them, they aren’t relying on any other results – It’s all in their hands.

However, to do so they do need to take all three points against Porto on Tuesday. Defeat against Leicester and draws against Leicester and Porto leave them on five points after four games, five clear of bottom of the table Club Brugge but two behind Porto in 2nd place.

Domestically they are doing very well too, with a huge 41 points from their 17 league games putting them nine points clear at the top of the table. Their 2-1 win over AaB on Friday made it five wins from their last six games, and they have only lost once all season in all competitions.

A collection of frustrating draws for Porto has left them lagging behind in the Portuguese Primeira Liga. They are five points adrift of Benfica, and following their penalty loss to Chaves on Friday they are now out of the Taca de Portugal as well.

This goalless draw after extra time made it three draws from their last five games, and away from home they have won just three of their last eight in all competitions. Even more worrying is the fact that they couldn’t manage to get a win over Copenhagen at home, giving the Danish champions an excellent chance of getting something from this game.

The hosts have a number of very dangerous attackers as well. In form striker Andreas Cornelius has scored seven goals in all competitions this season, with four of them coming at home. Midfielder Thomas Delaney has also bagged seven in all competitions, with three of those coming at home. Either of these are great choices for out anytime goalscorer predictions.

Porto do have their own star player in Andre Silva, but he might find it difficult against a Copenhagen side who are exceptional at the back. The hosts have kept a clean sheet in their last six home matches in all competition, scoring a total of 14 goals without reply.

I do think the hosts have an excellent chance of keeping their qualification hopes alive here, especially with Porto struggling away from home.
