FC Porto vs Young Boys Predictions

Porto won 3-2 away at Portimonense at the weekend and have now won their last four Primeira Liga games, while Young Boys maintained their unbeaten start to the new Swiss season with an emphatic 11-2 win against Freienbach on Saturday.

All of the stats suggest that this game will be packed with goalmouth action and we’ve backed over 3.5 goals to be scored and for Porto to win on Thursday.

These two clubs have never met before, despite both being regulars in Europe over the last few years, but we’re expecting an open and competitive ninety minutes between the pair, as over 3.5 goals were produced in three of Porto’s and four of Young Boys’ last five matches.

Porto have won their last four matches, including their last two home games which produced seven goals for the Portuguese club, providing part of the reason as to why we expect Thursday’s match to also be filled with goals. Both teams scored in three of Porto’s and four of Young Boys’ last six matches, and we expect more of the same on Thursday night, with the final score to end 3-1 in the home sides’ favour. Young Boys haven’t lost so far this season but they haven’t played against anyone near to the quality of Porto and could find the step up too much to handle on Thursday.

Young Boys have scored fifteen goals in their last four away games, netting eleven in the Swiss Cup against Freienbach, so the visitors possess a decent goal threat and even though their chances are likely to be a lot more limited against quality opposition like Porot, we still expect the visitors to get on the scoreboard.
