Fenerbahce vs Konyaspor Betting Tips & Predictions

Ex-Manchester United duo Nani and Robin van Persie all but sealed Fenerbahce spot in the Turkish Cup Final in the first leg of this semi final. Their goals helped the visiting side to a 3-0 lead in the first leg, and it’s given Konyaspor a mountain to climb on Thursday.

Fenerbahce come into this game having won four matches on the bounce, scoring 14 goals and conceding just once. Their last defeat did come at Konyaspor though, but even another 2-1 win for the visitors wouldn’t be anywhere near enough to overturn the deficit.

This defeat came after an abhorrent evening in Portugal for Fenerbahce as well. They lost 4-1 to Braga in a game which was marred by poor refereeing decisions and violence by the Turkish squad. Fenerbahce went on to lose one and draw two of their next three matches before recovering.

At home they have been sensational this season though. They have won 15 of their last 16 outings in all competitions and haven’t lost since the middle of September. This home form has kept them challenging for the Super Lig title, where they sit in 2nd position just three points adrift of Besiktas.

Konyaspor occupy the position below Fenerbahce, but the 11 point gap between them and the Istanbul giants illustrates the gulf in class between them. Konyaspor have lost two of their last three matches as well and seen their 19 match unbeaten streak come to an end.

I don’t think Konyaspor have a chance in this one. Fenerbahce are just too good at home and I think they’ll put the tie beyond all doubt early on. The incentive will be greater still if Galatasaray make it to the final. They have had a torrid season in the Super Lig so Fenerbahce would love nothing more than to deny them any silverware with a cup final win.

This makes odds of 8/13 for a Fenerbahce Win look fair to me. I’m going for a 3-1 correct score prediction at 12/1 as well.
