Fiorentina vs Sampdoria Predictions

Fiorentina have had a mixed season so far to say the least, but things aren’t looking too bad for them. Not only are they on the verge of winning their Europa League group, but they’re just four points off fifth in Serie A with a game in hand. A European finish is usually their aim, so that’s pretty good all round.

Sampdoria ended Frank De Boer’s reign at Inter Milan last Sunday, can they build on that this weekend? They head to a ground where they usually struggle, so it’s hard to see how they can improve on their place in the bottom half. They’re also heading to an in form side, one who have won four of their last five games.

While the home side have drawn their last three here in the league, they’ll be eyeing up another victory. Struggling Sampdoria have lose 67% of their away matches this term. Their last win on the road came on the opening day of the season. It’s hard to see them adding to that victory when they travel to the Artemio Franchi.

Especially as Sampdoria are coming up against Fiorentina’s in form front man. Blackburn Rovers reject Nikola Kalinic hardly impressed while at Ewood Park, but clearly he has talent. He’s found his rhythm in Serie A, hitting seven goals in his last five matches. The forward was on target in La Viola’s midweek Europa League victory, and we think he’ll grab another goal here. Kalinic is priced at evens with bet365 to find the net any time here.

Sampdoria have scored just a goal per game away, while they concede twice per match on average. Their scoring form isn’t likely to improve here, as they face a Fiorentina side who are fantastic defensively at their own ground. They’ve conceded just once in front of their own supporters, which averages out at 0.2 goals per game. They concede just 10% of their goals in Serie A at home

Fiorentina have conceded from just 1% of the shots they’ve faced here, which is a really impressive record. Sampdoria convert just 6% of their chances on the road, which suggests they’ll struggle to break down the hosts. La Viola are unbeaten here this season, and all of their home victories have been to nil. We’re backing another win and clean sheet for them, which is priced at 13/8 with bet365.
