Fleetwood Town to Win and Over 1.5 Match Goals
Fleetwood Town vs Blackpool Predictions
- Fleetwood are unbeaten and have won five out of seven at home against teams currently in the bottom half.
- Fleetwood have only conceded more than once in one out of 17 at home in League 1 this season.
- Blackpool have conceded multiple goals in six of their eight away games against top-half teams.
- Blackpool have scored in 100% of their away games against top-half teams this season.
Hosts moving forward
Fleetwood continued their assault on the top six during the week, as they got the better of Ipswich away from home. Not only did that win propel Joey Barton’s men into the play-off places, but it was also their tenth game without defeat. It’s fair to say that that Cod Army are on the up and are no easy team to face.
Though they’ve been good on the road, home is certainly where the heart is for Fleetwood, who’ve lost just one out of 17 at Highbury Stadium this term. Less prolific in terms of goals than some of the teams around them in the table, the Cod Army have been excellent at restricting teams. Impressively, they’ve conceded more than once in just one of their 17 home games.
In addition, Fleetwood have an excellent home record against bottom-half teams, winning five and losing none of their seven home matches against those that currently sit in the bottom half.
Visitors on the up
Fleetwood aren’t the only ones moving forward. Blackpool have won each of their last two, are unbeaten in three and come into this match off the back of beating top-half opposition. Such form should mean that the visitors come into this match in good spirits.
However, Blackpool’s recent wins have both come at Bloomfield Road. On their travels, it’s been a different story for the Tangerines, who’re without an away win since September. That’s 12 away matches without a victory. More alarmingly, during that time, they’ve scored more than once on just one occasion.
Cod Army to get the job done
Fleetwood’s record against bottom-half teams is not to be ignored. They’ve been solid in general, but they’re very effective in these games. Punters are pointed towards ‘Fleetwood to Win & Over 1.5 Goals’. The hosts have won five out of seven against bottom-half teams and have also scored two or more in five of those seven. Moreover, the visitors have conceded two or more in six out of eight on the road against top-half teams, while they’ve lost three of their four matches away against the current top six. The fact that Blackpool are regularly conceding more shots than they take away from home also lends itself to the selection.
‘Correct Score’ players can try a 2-1 win for the hosts. Fleetwood have scored exactly two goals in four out of seven against bottom-half opposition but have also conceded exactly once in four of those seven. Moreover, they’ve conceded a single goal no less than 11 times at home this season. Blackpool have conceded exactly twice in five out of eight against top-half sides on the road but have scored once in four of those eight.
