Fulham vs Bolton Predictions
It will probably be a relief as much as anything to finally get this season over with for Bolton fans, who have known their team would be playing in League One next year for some time now. Their players haven’t completely given up though and they are still fighting and a 1-0 win over Hull last weekend brought some relief to a miserable run that had seen them pick up just 1 point from their previous 8 games. Away from home they have failed to win all season though and travel to Fulham hoping to avoid an 8th consecutive away defeat so they won’t travel to the capital with great expectations despite last weekend’s win.
Fulham’s season hasn’t been a great deal better but at least they are safe and will be in the Championship again next term. However even if they win this they could finish just 1 place outside the relegation zone, where they currently are and they have just 1 point from their last 4 matches. The West London club have conceded 12 goals in those 4 games including a 3-0 defeat at local rivals Brentford last weekend. They have only kept 3 clean sheets all season with defensive weakness again their main problem.
These are the two sides with the worst defensive records in the league so we can expect there to be chances at both ends here. There have been over 2.5 goals in all of Fulham’s last 5 home games and all of Bolton’s last 5 away matches so we should see some goals but it is Fulham who are far more clinical in attack with McCormack and Dembele capable of having a field day against this Bolton defence so backing Fulham to win and over 2.5 goals at 11/8 looks to offer good value here.
