Granada vs Real Sociedad Predictions
Real Sociedad are ‘odds on’ to win this match at struggling Granada but there are numerous reasons why they look quite short at that price.
Firstly you only have to look back to their most recent away game for evidence that they aren’t quite the finished package yet. Two weeks ago they were hammered 5-1 at another of the sides in the relegation battle, Deportivo La Coruna. Few people saw that result coming and they made hard work of seeing off a poor Valencia side that had been reduced to 10 men last weekend when they won 3-2. Therefore, keeping goals out looks an issue for them right now and both teams have scored in all of their last 5 matches while they’ve conceded 1.86 goals per game on their travels, losing 57% of their away matches.
Those aren’t really the sort of stats you expect to see from a side that are strong favourites to win on the road, particularly with Granada looking much improved of late. They’ve only lost one of their last 6 matches and Lucas Alcaraz has really got them organised in what is his 3rd spell in charge of the Andalusian club. They’ve only conceded two goals in their last 4 home games which is some transformation for a side that was leaking goals all over the place in the opening weeks of the season. Their most recent home match was a 2-1 win over a very impressive Sevilla side and they will take a great deal of confidence from that.
Striker Artem Kravets has also started scoring goals, netting in 2 of his last 3 appearances in La Liga and the former Dynamo Kiev man should be a threat here with Sociedad not great at the back. Therefore, backing Kravets to score anytime at 2/1 looks a tempting bet here.
Both these sides have really improved since the opening weeks of the season but the bookies seem to have only recognised Real Sociedad’s improvement. If La Real defend like they did at the Riazor a fortnight ago, they will get beaten and even an improved showing may not be enough to bag 3 points against a more settled Granada side. Therefore, backing Double Chance – Granada or Draw at 17/20 looks to offer value here.
