Gremio vs Bahia Predictions
Wednesday’s Brazilian Serie A action sees Gremio going up against Bahia in Porto Alegre. An open and exciting game looks set to be in order.
After putting together back to back wins over Ceara and Atletico Mineiro respectively, Gremio now find themselves exactly where they want to be; inside the top 6 places. With 41 points from 25 games, Renato Gaucho’s men are meeting all expectations in the league so far this season and will want to continue their strong form in this match against a direct rival for the Copa Libertadores spots.
Wednesday’s game will be the last in which Gremio use their strongest XI before their Libertadores semi-final clash with Flamengo, so it’s of particular importance they get the job done, with the weekend trip to Fortaleza a tricky one with a reserve team set to be fielded. Coming into this match with 4 wins from their last 5 home league games, those taking to the pitch will be fully assured of their ability to secure all 3 points.
Nonetheless, it won’t be an easy task with Bahia in town. Roger Machado’s men are putting together a very strong campaign and are defying all pre-season expectations to challenge for a top 6 place. Currently 8th and just 3 points behind Gremio, those in visiting ranks know a win on Wednesday would be a huge one and will be travelling to try and get it.
That being said, with just 1 points from their last 3 matches, Bahia’s form has dipped of late and confidence isn’t running sky high. Indeed, the side have failed to score in their last 2 matches now but with loan star Arthur returning from suspension, they should be able to recover their scoring touch and an away record that’s seen them score at least once in 5 of their last 6 trips certainly suggests that they should be able to pose a degree of threat.
Ultimately, we’re expecting an open and exciting game in this clash. It’s a big match in the race for the top 6 and both teams will be going all out for the win. The two typically play in open and expansive styles and with an array of attacking talent set to take to the pitch, it’s hard to imagine anything but goals come full time.
As such, backing the Both Teams to Score line looks an excellent way to play as far as the betting is concerned and is something we’re more than happy to do. 6 of Gremio’s last 8 home league games have seen goals at both ends and we fancy that trend to continue, with a 2-1 margin of home victory on the cards.
