Hamilton vs Inverness CT Predictions

Hamilton’s struggles this season continued on Saturday when they lost 3-0 at St Johnstone, with the relegation threatened side failing to build on their 1-0 win over Kilmarnock in the Scottish FA Cup last weekend.

This defeat made it 12 games without a win in the Scottish Premiership, and with five of their last six ending in defeat it’s easy to see why they were one of the favourites for the drop in pre-season. They now sit 11th in the table, but they’re only above the bottom of the table on goal difference.

That slender difference makes this a crucial clash, as their opponents Inverness CT are the only side lying below them in the table. A win for either team in this match would send them three points clear of that automatic relegation position.

Unfortunately for the visitors they aren’t in great shape either. Their goalless draw at home to Partick Thistle on Saturday made it 11 games without a victory for them, and seven of these have ended in defeat for them.

Away from home they have lost five and drawn one of their last six games and have kept just one clean sheet all season, whilst Hamilton have drawn three and lost three of their last six at home, keeping two clean sheets out of 11 this term.

The hosts have only failed to score in two of their home games this season though, and despite their position in the table Inverness have scored more often than not away from home. This, combined with both teams’ lack of clean sheets, makes odds of 7/10 for Both Teams to Score look a good option here. Inverness CT’s poor recent defensive record makes a 2-1 win for the hosts at 9/1 look a good option for our correct score predictions.
