Hartlepool vs Wimbledon Betting Tips & Predictions

Hartlepool look like they could have avoided a dreaded relegation battle this season. They have picked up eight points from their last four outings in League Two, a run of form which has seen them build a comfortable looking cushion between them and the drop zone.

They sit in 21st position in the table, but they have a nine point lead over the dreadful York in the first of the relegation places, so barring any miraculous recovery from the bottom two clubs Hartlepool should be safe.

Wimbledon are aiming for much more than avoiding relegation this season, with their 56 point haul putting them in 9th and just three points adrift of the first of the playoff positions, occupied by Leyton Orient. A win on Friday could see them move into the playoff positions and give them a chance of moving into League One.

They have suffered some poor form recently though. They did manage to get a win last time out at home to second from bottom York, but before that they had lost three and drawn two of their previous five League Two games, a run which has put their promotion push in jeopardy.

Wimbledon haven’t won any of their last three on the road, but they have the capability to beat anyone on their day. They haven’t failed to score on the road since November, with seven of their nine trips since then seeing both teams hit the back of the net. Hartlepool have seen both teams score in four of their last five home matches, so odds of 4/5 for Both Teams to Score look very good value to me. I’m also going for a 2-1 Wimbledon win at 8/1.
