Hearts vs Aberdeen Betting Tips & Predictions

Hearts could have done Aberdeen a massive favour last weekend when they visited Celtic Park, but unfortunately for both them and Aberdeen the Scottish Champions were too much for them. They came away on the end of a 3-1 defeat to follow on from their 3-0 loss at home to St Johnstone prior to that.

They had won four matches on the trot before these back to back losses, but they could spell the beginning of Hearts’ season petering out into nothingness if they are not careful.

Hearts are still looking very comfortable in 3rd position in the Scottish Premiership though. They are eight points ahead of Motherwell in 4th, but 12 adrift of Aberdeen in 2nd. You can understand why they are lacking a bit of motivation with such a big gap on either side of them.

It could become bigger on one side of them on Friday. Aberdeen sit above them, and they are gunning for a victory in order to close the gap on league leaders Celtic to just two points. This comes after Celtic missed out on their chance to go seven points clear when they drew in midweek.

Aberdeen looked impressive again in their 3-0 win at home to Hamilton last weekend, a win that saw them bounce back from their loss to Motherwell before the international break and made it four wins in their last five matches.

Hearts’ lack of motivation is evident at this point. They are on for a very good finishing position in the Scottish Premiership considering they were only promoted in the summer and it’s understandable that they are mentally on holiday after a long season. Aberdeen are thinking no such thing though, and they will be gunning for a win so they can maintain their challenge for Celtic’s top spot before Rangers enter the fray again next campaign.

I think the visitors can get a win on Friday, and odds of 1/1 for an Aberdeen win look good value to me. I’m also going to back a 2-1 correct score prediction at 8/1.
