Hearts vs Celtic Predictions
After demolishing the Scottish Championship last season Hearts showed no signs of slowing down once they entered the top flight.
They won their opening five Scottish Premiership matches to put them joint top of the table. They then went on a three match losing streak before picking themselves back up and winning five of their next eight.
But their form has started to dip during the busy festive period. They haven’t won in four league matches, with three draws and one loss seeing them fall way behind in the Scottish Premiership.
They are still in an impressive 3rd position, but they are nine points behind 2nd placed Aberdeen and ten off the top spot holders Celtic.
But Celtic haven’t been their usual self in recent weeks either. They have only won two of their last six matches in all competitions, losing two and drawing two.
This has seen them crash out of the Europa League at the group stages, but they will be pleased that they have managed to maintain their position at the top of the league table.
These two sides have already met twice this season, with Hearts snatching a point at Celtic Park in the Scottish Premiership before being knocked out at home by Celtic in the Scottish League Cup.
With Celtic losing last weekend at home to Motherwell and only winning two of their last six I think Hearts have a great chance of getting something from this game.
The home side have proven how difficult they are to beat as well. They have only lost two of their last 12 in all competitions and have won five, drawn two, and lost one of their eight home league games this season.
This makes odds of 8/5 for a Hearts Win or Draw Double Chance seem incredibly good value, and that’s what I’ll be backing along with a 1-1 correct score prediction at 7/1.
