Hull vs Crystal Palace Predictions

Hull managed to edge their way into the League Cup semi final last week with a penalty victory over a Newcastle side who will feel like they deserved the win. They couldn’t build on this success on Monday though as they fell to another Premier League defeat, this time at Middlesbrough.

This leaves them with just one Premier League win in their last 12 outings, with nine of those 12 ending in defeat and leaving them in a disappointing 19th position. They are just a point off safety, but their form hasn’t shown many signs of turning around recently.

Crystal Palace, despite their positive start to the campaign, found themselves edging towards the drop zone recently after losing six matches on the bounce in the Premier League.

Last weekend they managed to turn it around with a fantastic 3-0 win over Southampton at Selhurst Park. This pushed them to 14th position, and Alan Pardew will be hoping to build on this success and save his precariously balanced job.

Christian Benteke managed to find the net twice last weekend to take his Premier League tally to seven goals for the season. He is by far the biggest threat for Crystal Palace, and considering Hull have been struggling in the air recently, backing the Belgian to find the net at 6/4 looks the best choice for our anytime goalscorer predictions.

Benteke has boosted Crystal Palace this season, and considering their awful attacking form last season they are hugely improved. They have netted 12 goals in their last five games and have scored at least two in four of them. Hull’s defence isn’t exactly up to scratch either, with them conceding at least two in three of their last five.

The outlook gets worse for Hull as well. They have conceded seven goals from set pieces this season and are facing a Crystal Palace side who have scored eight times from dead balls. In addition to this Hull have found it difficult dealing with skillful players, which Crystal Palace wingers Wilfried Zaha and Andros Townsend have in abundance.

All things considered, odds of 5/4 for Crystal Palace Over 1.5 Team Goals look very good value for money, so that’s what I’m backing alongside a 2-0 correct score predictions at 11/1.
