Inverness CT vs Dundee Predictions

Inverness CT had a disappointing season last term as they finished in the bottom half of the Scottish Premiership, a marked decrease in performance from their 3rd place finish in the 2014/15 campaign.

This season hasn’t shown any signs of them improving on their newfound position in the bottom half of the table though. They did manage to win three of their four Scottish League Cup group games, but as soon as the Premiership season began it all went to pot.

They lost their opener 2-0 against Partick Thistle and were then knocked out of the League Cup at the hands of Alloa Athletic. Ross County and Hearts then beat them 3-2 and 5-1 respectively.

Fortunately for Inverness CT they have improved since then. They got their first league win of the season at home to St Johnstone before the international break, and since their return they have managed to draw against Aberdeen and Celtic. However, their early season losing streak still puts them down in 11th position in the table.

Dundee haven’t done much better either. They also dropped into the bottom half of the top flight last season, although their move down from a previous 6th place finish wasn’t as drastic as Inverness CT’s.

The visitors went out of the Scottish League Cup at the group stages as they failed to beat East Fife and Peterhead. They did manage to start their Premiership campaign with a 3-1 win at Ross County, but a loss at home to Rangers sparked a winless run of games.

They have since drawn against Hamilton Academical, Motherwell, and Kilmarnock and last weekend lost 3-1 at home to Aberdeen, leaving them in 8th position in the table but with the possibility of dropping to the bottom of the table if they lose on Saturday.

Draws are the order of the day for these two sides. Inverness CT have drawn their last two matches whilst Dundee have played out stalemates in three of their last four outings. Not only that, but six of their last ten meetings with one another, including four of their last six, have ended all square. This makes odds of 9/4 for another Draw on Saturday look very good value for money. I’m backing that along with a 1-1 correct score prediction at 5/1.
