Jonkopings Sodra vs Falkenberg Predictions

Both these sides started this campaign with promotion hopes but so far only Falkenberg have looked like realising them. They have been the pace-setters at the top of the Superettan and they have another chance to send out a statement to the rest of the division in this game.

They head into match-day 13 with a two point cushion at the top and having finished just one place below the play-off place last term, they have really responded to that disappointment well. Falkenberg appeared in the top flight for the first time in their history in 2014 and their three year stay in the Allsvenskan looks to have given them a taste for life at the top level.

Jonkopings Sodra are another side hoping to make a quick return to the Swedish top flight. They were relegated only last season and actually finished the highest of the three relegated sides but are currently the lowest of the trio in the Superettan standings. They’ve struggled to really ignite their season into life and find themselves in mid-table and with plenty of work to do to get into the promotion mix.

Their dodgy home record is a big reason why they aren’t going so well. They’ve only won one of their six home games so far this term and average a pitiful 0.5 goals per game in front of their own fans. Only bottom club Varnamo have netted fewer goals than them this term so Falkenberg might not need to net more than once to get the win here.

They have scored in all of their away games this term and average an impressive 2.5 goals per game on the road, so they should be able to find the breakthrough against a reasonably well-organised Jonkopings defence. Their average of 2.33 points per game on the road is also the best in the division and actually betters the tally they’ve managed on home soil.

All things considered, the high-flying visitors certainly look the side that is more capable of bagging the points. The bookies can’t split them though so going for Falkenberg Draw No Bet looks like a pretty decent punt.

With Jonkopings home matches averaging just 1.33 goals per game in total, it’s unlikely to be a high-scoring encounter though. Going for a 1-0 Away Win might be the smart move in the Correct Score market.
