Konyaspor vs Fenerbahce Predictions

Konyaspor, a place behind Fenerbahce in third in the Turkish Super Lig, come into the first leg of this Turkish Cup semi-final on a great run of form, having not lost in 19 games since the turn of the year, with Besiktas the last team to have beaten them. Konyaspor got their revenge for that defeat by knocking Besiktas out in the last round of the cup, 3-1 on aggregate, so Fenerbahce will hold little fear for coach Aykut Kocaman and his players.

With Wednesday’s hosts having never won the Turkish Cup, experience is one of the areas where Fenerbahce have more to offer than Konyaspor. Fener have won six Turkish Cups, the most recent of which came in 2013, but they travel to Konya Büyükşehir Stadı on a poor run of form that might well have cost them their chances of catching Besiktas at the top of the Super Lig table.

A run of four matches without a win was ended with a 4-1 victory over Mersin Idmanyurdu last time out, with Volkan Sen scoring a brace in the first half and Fernandao and Robin van Persie also on the scoresheet, but Besiktas now have a five-point lead at the top of the table.

Although Fenerbahce are undefeated in their last nine matches in the Turkish Cup, the hosts look full of confidence and it is very tempting to side with them for this game at extremely appealing odds. Konyaspor Draw No Bet at 5/4 with Betfair is a big price considering Fener’s problems of late and Konyaspor have won with a one-goal margin in their last five matches, so we also like the look of Konyaspor to Win 2-1 at 10/1, which is also available with Betfair.
