Leicester vs West Brom Predictions

Leicester’s scrappy 1-0 win over Norwich at the weekend was what some people call a title winning performance. You can’t win a Premier League title without having the grit and determination to snatch three points after a scrappy performance like that. It certainly wasn’t the best performance we have seen from the sensational Leicester, but it underlined their title credentials and piled the pressure on the chasing pack. Arsenal succumbed to this pressure on Sunday with a defeat at Old Trafford, whilst Spurs thrived under it and managed to come from a goal behind to keep pace with the leaders.

This leaves Leicester two points clear of Spurs, five points clear of Arsenal, and nine points clear of Manchester City. The next four matches will be absolutely crucial to them, with very winnable games against West Brom, Watford, Newcastle, and Crystal Palace.

I think they’ll get the run in off to an good start on Tuesday and pick up three points against an improving West Brom side. The hosts come into this game having won four of their last five matches and well rested after missing out on the FA Cup weekend. It’s also worth noting that Leicester haven’t lost against a bottom half team all season, with their lowest defeat coming at Anfield against Liverpool.

West Brom got a shock 3-2 victory at Crystal Palace on Saturday. It was a shock not because West Brom won, but because there was five goals scored between two of the poorer quality attacking sides in the league. This made it two wins, two defeats, and a draw in their last five outings and pushed them to a more comfortable 11 points clear of the relegation zone.

Tony Pulis won’t like it, but I expect West Brom to start slacking off again soon. They are in a relatively comfortable mid-table position but haven’t got any realistic hopes of achieving a good finishing position. The players could be a bit disenchanted by some of the fans’ treatment of them too, with every poor performance greeted with boos and Chris Brunt getting a coin thrown at him from his own fans after their FA Cup exit.

This all makes odds of 4/6 for a home win on Tuesday look very attractive, but I do think it could be another scrappy one from Leicester so I’m going for a 2-1 correct score prediction as well.
