      Levante vs Granada Predictions

      • Levante have won three of their last four home La Liga matches, including a 1-0 victory against leaders Real Madrid in their last outing at Ciutat de Valencia a fortnight ago.
      • Granada have lost eight of their last nine La Liga fixtures on the road.
      • Levante ran out 1-2 winners when the sides met at Los Carmenes in December’s reverse fixture.

Return to home comforts for Levante

Levante have been atrocious on the road this season and they endured further misery away to Eibar last weekend. Granotas were swatted aside 3-0 at Ipurua, a result which brought up their fifth consecutive away league defeat and their 11th loss in total from 14 away matches this term.

Fortunately for Levante, their travelling woes continue to have little impact on their performances at home. Paco Lopez’ side have won three of their last four at Ciutat de Valencia including a fine 1-0 success against Real Madrid a fortnight ago.

Levante have amassed 23 points in total from their 12 home fixtures this season (W7, D2 and L3), so it’s somewhat surprising that the bookies have chalked them up at above evens to beat Granada this weekend.

Granotas turned in a rare strong away effort to overcome Nazaries 1-2 in December’s reverse fixture at Los Carmenes, while Granada travel to Valencia this weekend possessing an away record which is equally as poor as their opponents.

Copa hangover likely for the visitors

Granada’s recent form looks strong at first glance with three wins and a draw gained from their last four outings in all competitions, but it’s worth remembering that Nazaries racked up a sequence of eight straight defeats on the road prior to a 0-3 success at Osasuna on Matchday 25.

While deserving of that victory, their opponents were nothing short of abysmal and the result doesn’t take away the fact that Granada, like Levante, are one of the worst away teams in La Liga.

And Granada head into this Sunday’s contest on the back of a huge cup disappointment in midweek. Diego Martinez’ charges turned around their Semi-Final tie against Bilbao through goals from Carlos Fernandez and Germain Sanchez, only to be denied nine minutes from time when Yuri secured a decisive away goal for Los Leones.

It’s reasonable to expect most sides to fall flat after such a heart-breaking loss, especially after investing so much effort over 90 minutes. Both of those factors could play a part here, adding further reasons to oppose Granada following their high volume of away defeats this term.

      Levante irresistible at odds-against

These sides’ respective home and away records suggest that Levante should be odds-on for this Sunday’s clash, so we’re really keen to support the hosts at around the 11/10 mark.

Granotas’ victory in December’s reverse fixture reinforces our support for the hosts, as does Granada’s midweek cup exertions and result which are likely to leave their mark.

For correct score punters, we’re tipping up a 2-0 success for Paco Lopez’ side. Levante have maintained clean sheets in their last two home matches, while Granada have failed to net in six of their last seven La Liga outings on the road.
