Macedonia vs Bulgaria Betting Tips & Predictions

Macedonia kicked off the international break with a drab 1-0 defeat away to Slovenia, with that result making it six defeats, one draw, and one win in their last eight matches. Their only victory came in a home friendly against Montenegro in November.

This form record illustrates why they finished bottom of their Euro 2016 qualifying group. They picked up just four points from their ten matches, beating minnows Luxembourg and drawing at Belarus to save them from getting no points.

Bulgaria didn’t make the finals in France either. They picked up 11 points from their ten games to finish 4th in Group H, eight points adrift of the playoff position that Norway earned themselves.

This is quite a lot better than Macedonia’s tally though, and their inexperienced squad managed to beat Portugal 1-0 away from home on Friday to give them back to back victories for the first time since 2013.

Bulgaria’s youthful squad are obviously determined to stake their claim for a regular place in the international set up, and it showed with their gritty performance on Friday. They were without the ball for long periods of the game and under siege by the Portuguese quite a lot, but they held their nerve and never gave in to the pressure.

I expect them to get another win on Tuesday, and it will probably be much more deserved than Friday’s. Odds of 8/11 for a Bulgaria Draw No Bet look really good value considering Macedonia have won just one of their last 12 matches and lost nine times. I’m backing a 2-0 correct score prediction at 11/1 as well.
