Mainz vs Qabala Predictions

Mainz have really not had the best of campaigns so far, and it’s showing no signs of turning around for them at the moment. They are already out of the Europa League no matter what happens on Thursday and they sit down in 10th position in the Bundesliga, having picked up just 17 points from their 13 league games so far.

Their last fixture was a rather expected 3-1 loss at home to Bayern Munich which made it four losses, one draw, and two wins in their last seven outings in all competitions. One of those victories was a friendly as well, whilst one of the defeats was a humiliating 6-1 thrashing at Anderlecht.

At home they have been slightly more respectable, winning three, drawing one, and losing two of their last six. They also beat Qabala 3-2 away from home earlier in the campaign, so Mainz will be hopeful of a good result on Thursday.

Qabala aren’t in great shape either. They scraped through in the cup on Saturday with a penalty win over Zaqatala, but they have only won two of their last ten games in normal time and are currently three points adrift of Qarabag at the top of the Azerbaijan Premyer Liqa.

Away from home they have won just one of their last seven and they have lost all five of their Europa League group games so far. Even with Mainz struggling it’s likely to be a difficult evening for Qabala in Germany.

Mainz will be turning towards Turkish attacker Yunus Malli for their attacking inspiration. The 24 year old has netted seven goals in the league and Europa League this season and provided a further five assists. Backing him to find the net at 20/21 looks the best option for our anytime goalscorer predictions.

I fully expect the hosts to get the win here, and I think it will be a high scoring one too. Mainz have seen Over 2.5 Goals in six of their nine home games this season and Qabala have seen high scoring affairs in four of their five Europa League group games. Odds of 4/5 for a Mainz Win and Over 2.5 Goals look promising, so I’m backing that alongside a 3-1 correct score predictions at 10/1.
